Research conducted in the Department of Computer Science and Management focuses on issues related to modeling and design of decision support systems dedicated to production systems (covering production flow planning as well as milk-run systems routing and scheduling), supply chain networks (covering UAVs fleet mission planning and optimization of multimodal distribution systems), project portfolio management and  other broadly understood  scheduling problems.

Our team consists of architects who are on a daily basis academic teachers at the Faculty of Architecture of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, as well as designers employed in design offices. We have experience and theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as equipment and computer sovtware that allow us to carry out various research tasks.

Scientific specialisation is spatial policy. The department conducts research into the economic, legal, environmental and urban conditions of spatial policy. spatial policy tools (e.g. spatial development plans) are studied and evaluated. Particular emphasis is placed on the interdisciplinary determination of spatial policy objectives, and the implementation of these objectives in legal acts (at the national, regional and local levels). The Chair also works on comparing spatial planning systems in different countries.

The activity of the Centre for Measurement of Physical and Mechanical Properties of Wood Materials (CMPMPWM) is focused on research and searching for new solutions to develop innovative products and technologies related to the production of wood based  products. The operation of the CMPMPWM is focused on in-depth research and analysis related to manufacturing and translating this into scientific knowledge and applying this knowledge to manufacturing operations.  The CMPMPWM activities focus on measurement, modelling and construction, i.e.

The Center of Bioimmobilization and Innovative Packaging Materials (CBIMO) is an interdisciplinary group of specialist working on:
- innovative biofunctional plant-based foods and food additives (Project NCBR Lider XI ProBioVege);
- bioimmobilization of compounds and cells for different applications (food additives, biotechnology, microbiology, packaging materials);
- formation, characterization of biodegradable materials and microencapsulation of bioactive substances for different industrial applications;

The research fields of the Department cover i.a.:
- design and analysis of transport and logistics systems;
- transport means operation;
- risk identification and analysis within transport processes;
- reliability assessment of technical systems;
- development of reloading systems concepts;
- technical, economic and organizational aspects of transport functioning, etc.

The research team includes:
1)    Dr hab. Danuta Zawadzka, prof. PK. Field: economics and finance. Interests: corporate finance, farm finance, personal finance. Author or co-author of over 180 national and international scientific publications. Supervisor in 3 doctoral dissertations. Manager in 3 nationwide research projects and manager and contractor in numerous research projects financed from university funds.

The Department's employees are authors of a number of scientific studies (including scientific monographs, participation in research programmes), design studies (architectural and urban projects in various scales), as well as expert studies (expert opinions for state institutions and private individuals).

Cognition & Communication Research Group (CCRG) is an interdisciplinary group of researchers with backgrounds in philosophy, cognitive science, theoretical and experimental pragmatics, linguistics, psychology, and behavioural economics. Its aim is to integrate insights from these different research domains to better understand mechanisms underlying cognitive and communicative processes.

The Institute of Physical Culture Sciences has been operating within the new structure of the University of Szczecin since 2019. It has the right to confer a doctoral degree in the discipline of physical education. It cooperates with the Faculty of Health and Physical Education, creates a modern model of physical culture, educates professional specialists and contributes to the development of research in the field of medical sciences and health sciences.
