The Department's employees are authors of a number of scientific studies (including scientific monographs, participation in research programmes), design studies (architectural and urban projects in various scales), as well as expert studies (expert opinions for state institutions and private individuals).
Research infrastructures:
• two computer labs,
• workrooms for BIM and BIM design models, 3D laser scanning, 3D printing, and VR.

The offered expertise includes:
- development of modern theories, doctrines, aesthetic trends in architecture and urban planning of the 20th and 21st centuries;
- development of modernist architecture of the region;
- shaping of public spaces in the socio-cultural context, construction of architectural and landscape interiors with recreational and integration functions;
- valorisation of the cultural landscape, especially evaluation of investments in the context of the degree of integration of architecture and landscape in leisure and tourist areas and studies of synergy between architecture and landscape;
- history and development of tourist and coastal architecture in the context of the landscape specificity of the region;
- optimization processes in urban and spatial planning and the type and scope of use of modern design tools: CAD systems, GIS, BIM, VR;
- practical verification of research in the design and revalorization of architectural objects, urban and landscape assumptions.

The group is interested in cooperation in:
- research on the significance of modernist tourist architecture in the development of seaside resorts of the Baltic Sea basin. Objective: to compare the development of modernist tourist architecture in historical and socio-cultural aspects and to verify its significance. Scope: historical studies of selected coastal towns, landscape transformations and tourist architecture; comparative analyses of modernist tourist architecture features and its valorisation
- research on the historical development and preservation of the urban, architectural and technical heritage of the Baltic shipbuilding industry. Objective: historical description of solutions used in the shipbuilding industry and exchange of experiences regarding the valorisation and protection of this heritage. Scope: historical and comparative studies of the development of the technical infrastructure associated with the Northern European maritime economy, shipbuilding industry in particular.

- Coast Wise Europe, International project dat door de Academie van Bouwkunst Rotterdam.
- Project funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW): Recovering the cultural identity of the coastal region in the context of degradation of the landscape of Western Pomerania Sea resorts.
- Projects funded by the MNiSW: Polish architecture in the area of Western Pomerania in the years 1976–2001, 1961-1975, 1945–1960.
