The CMBB is the prospects for conducting far-reaching research in the field of molecular biology and biotechnology, as well as carrying out high-level, innovative projects in those fields.
Cooperation with companies and enterprises specialising in seed production, agriculture, medicine, pharmacy and ecology. Opportunities for development in the areas: molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, population genetics, breeding, aerobiology.
The CMBB encompasses the following:
1. Specialised laboratories:
• the Laboratory of Molecular Biology with the Cytogenetics and Protoemics Laboratory,
• the Laboratory of Environmental Research.
2. Advanced research equipment (as leader in northwest Poland), including:
• a scanning electron microscope,
• an HPLC liquid chromatography device,
• an automated system for confocal and epifluorescent imaging of live cells in real time,
• a mobile laboratory.

The expertise offered includes:
Research on environmental samples, incl. in terms of prokaryotic organisms in terms of their pathogenicity towards mammals and in terms of searching for substances potentially useful in biotechnological processes.
Research on the population of plants and animals under specific environmental conditions (dust, salinity, drought).
Examination of genetic predisposition to disease in humans and domestic animals.
Search for anti-cancer substances of plant origin.
Research on immune phenomena in acute infections as a diagnostic model in viral, bacterial and other acute and acute infections.
Bacteriological and virological studies of the aquatic environment - searching for a new model of aquatic environment assessment.
Restitution and protection of migratory fish, construction of artificial spawning grounds.
Research on alien invasive species.
Assessment of the quality of sex products of fish.
Research on physico-chemical and biological parameters of waters.
Changes in tissues caused by disease processes.
Analysis of surfaces and surface areas of materials, assessment of the quality and purity of materials, diagnostics of corrosive pollution, tests of wear of working surfaces, defect characteristics.
Chromatographic analyzes of chemicals using HPLC.

Thanks to the CMBB, a partnership between academia and business is made possible, leading to a growth in innovation and competitiveness within companies by providing them with access to the latest scientific knowledge.

The group is interested in cooperation in:
• Biology, Agriculture, Horticulture, Environmental Protection, Medicine,
• Material engineering and metallurgy,
• Experimental Variety Assessment Stations,
• Seed Stations,
• The Quarantine and Plant Protection Station,
• Breeding and seed companies,
• Environmental Protection Inspectorates,
• Garden and Forest Nurseries,
• Individual farmers, agricultural enterprises, local governments - agricultural and land management departments,
• Fish and Agricultural Farms,
• Hospitals,
• Veterinarians.

Additional information (e.g. previous experience in Framework Programmes, experience related to innovation projects, prizes, participation in international organisations):
The CMBB scientists have extensive experience in the implementation of research grants and in cooperation with enterprises. During its operation, several dozen contracts were signed with scientists and companies from Poland and the world.

Thematic area - Cluster in Horizon Europe: 6. Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment.
