Research covers issues of sustainable transport development, including:
- development of transport systems, with particular emphasis on land-sea transport chains and the role of ports and intermodal terminals in their creation
- development of sustainable city logistics systems with special attention on new technologies in last mile deliveries
- development of traffic management systems in urbanized areas, including the concept of electromobility in public transport
- development of transport system telematics and intelligent transportation systems
- development of water tourism, in particular issues related to the management of yacht ports
- development of smart city systems and their impact on the management of supply chains and urban environment
- reducing the impact of machinery and transport equipment on the environment during production, operation and disposal
- assessment of the impact of cargo on the technical condition of transport equipment
- analysis of road transport environmental impact
- optimization of storage, handling and transport processes with particular emphasis on quality, safety and environmental protection
- use of post-production waste of plant and polymer origin for the production of nanomaterials
- study of the adsorption and desorption capacity of nanometric materials
The expertise offer includes:
- research on economic phenomena, in particular regarding freight and passenger transport: transport forecasts, development scenarios, analyses of transport demand
- research on the development of smart cities, urban freight transport systems, transport system telematics, urban infrastructure, e.g. the location of park & ride stops, unloading bays
- planning the development of water tourism, research on infrastructure elements in terms of their adaptation to the needs of the elderly with the use of an aging simulator
- modelling communication needs in the city and the region, modelling traffic flows, planning the development of communication systems in the city
- measurements of noise, air pollution (suspended dust, compounds from fuel combustion), light intensity and electromagnetic radiation
- physicochemical tests of water
- research on the influence of microclimatic factors on changes in cargo characteristics, research on the properties of liquid cargo, quality and changes in physicochemical parameters of cargo, and determination of the quality characteristics of fuels.
The group is interested in cooperation as part of international research projects in the field of:
- sustainable development of transport
- planning the development of transport infrastructure in Europe
- development of smart cities and intelligent transport systems
- planning the development of urban transport infrastructure
- city logistics
- production, operation and disposal of means of transport
- air and water pollution.
